Juliana wins fundraising All Blacks jersey

20 December 2011

The sought-after prize of a piece of All Blacks' history has been won by a lucky Pukekohe woman.

Juliana Couper's ticket was the one drawn from hundreds of raffle tickets by Tana Umaga.

This special piece of 2011 Rugby World Cup memorabilia was donated to the Franklin Silver Lining Trust last month and $4000 was raised from ticket sales.

The black shirt included signatures from players such as Dan Carter, Piri Weepu, Sonny Bill Williams and Aaron Cruden.

The trust's main objective is to give Franklin families facing adversity special breaks on an ongoing basis.

Funds raised through this raffle will go towards paying for those much-needed breaks.

The trust would like to thank the following businesses for their support, Mico Bathrooms (formerly Mastertrade) for donating the signed shirt and use of their showroom for the evening, Alpine Print for designing and printing the raffle tickets, King of Arts for the framing, Top of the Town Book Exchange for donating the engraved plates, Mocca Cafe and Pizza Box for their platters of food on the night and selling tickets, Franklin Country Meats and Bakers Delight for sausages and bread, Spartan provided the chief cooker on the barbecue and meat, Methven for donating spot prizes and helping with the barbecue, Pukekohe Liquor Centre, Liquorland, Pure Indulgence, Matts Photo World, N'tolerance, Preview, Stirling Sports and Pukekohe Police.
